How old do I have to be to get tattooed?
In Victoria, you must be at least 18 years old to get tattooed — no exceptions, even with parental consent. This is a legal requirement under Victorian law, and all tattoo studios in Melbourne, including Victims of Ink, are required to strictly follow these regulations.
We will ask for valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license, passport, or proof of age card) before your appointment. If you’re under 18, we unfortunately won’t be able to proceed with the tattoo, even with a guardian present.
We appreciate your understanding and are always happy to answer any questions about age requirements or studio policies.
Do you accept walk ins?
Yes, we welcome walk-ins at Victims of Ink! While booking in advance is the best way to secure your preferred artist and time, we do accept walk-in tattoos when availability allows. If you’re in South Yarra and feeling spontaneous, drop by the studio — we’ll do our best to fit you in. For real-time availability, give us a call or DM us on Instagram before heading in.
Do you offer free touch ups?
Yes, we do! We offer free touch-ups within 3 months of your original appointment, as long as it’s needed and the tattoo has healed properly. Just keep in mind that touch-ups due to poor aftercare or tattoos in high-wear areas (like fingers or feet) may come at an additional cost. If you’re unsure, feel free to send us a photo of the healed tattoo and we’ll guide you from there.
